Rabbit
To look through the undealt deck of cards.
Rabbit Hunting
The act of requesting to see what cards would have come up if a hand had continued. Some s prohibit it.
Rack
A tray that holds 100 poker chips in five stacks of twenty chips each.
Rag
A card, usually a low card, that has no apparent impact on the hand when it appears.
Rail
The rim of a poker table or a barrier outside a poker area.
Rainbow
A board that is comprised entirely of different suits. Thus no flush is possible.
Raise
To increase the previousbet.
Raise Blind
(1) To raise without looking at one's cards. (2) A forced raise.
Rake
An amount of money taken out of every pot by the dealer. This is the 's income.
Raked Hand
A raked hand is any hand in which you were dealt cards that has a rake taken from the pot.
Rake Back
Refers to the percentage of the rake that is returned to the players. For online poker this is easy because the exact amount a player pays in rake can be tracked.
Rank
The value of each card and hand.
Razz
(1) Seven-Card Lowball Stud. (2) Draw poker in which the winner of the previous pot bets last. Also known as gardena razz.
Rat Holing
Rat holing means to leave a game and then come back into the game with a smaller stack then with which you left. For example, suppose you buy into a game for $20. You go on a winning streak and increase your stack to $100. Now, you feel uncomfortable playing with this much money, so you leave the game, pocket $80, and re-enter the game with only $20. Rat holing is poor poker etiquette, and most poker rooms prohibit it.
Read
To read someone is to have a good idea of what their cards are, based on the way they play (or by spotting tells).
Re-Buy
In Multi-Table Tournaments, this is a feature that enables players to buy back in to a tournament within the Re-Buy Period.
Re-Deal
A new deal after a misdeal.
Reload Bonus
A bonus that a poker room gives to its existing players.
Re-Raise
To raise after someone has already raised.
Represent
To play as if you hold a certain hand. "Representing The Flop" is when player bets after the flop in order to portray to the other players that he has the best hand.
Ring Game

Also known as a Cash Game. A ring game is a poker game played with "real" chips and money on the line, usually with no predetermined end time. In contrast, a poker tournament is played with tournament chips (worth nothing outside the tournament) with a definite end condition (usually, only one player left).

River
This is the last card given in all games. In Hold'em and Omaha, it is also known as 5th street. In Stud games, it is also known as 7th street.
Rock
A player who plays very tight and not very creatively. For example, he raises only with the best hands and, therefore, he is referred to as a "rock" which is a very predictable object.
Round
Refers to either a round of betting or a round of hands.
Round of Betting
This is when players have the opportunity to bet, check or raise. Each round of betting ends when the last bet or raise has been called.
Rounder
An astute player who knows all the angles and earns his living at the poker table.
Royal Flush
This is an Ace high straight (A-K-Q-J-10) of the same suit. It is the best possible hand in poker.
Runner
Commonly reffered to as "runner-runner." It is a hand made only by catching the correct cards on both the turn and the river. For instance, "he made a runner-runner flush to beat my trips."
