Wait for the Blind
Instead of joining in the middle of a rotation, some clubs do not let a new player be dealt-in until it is their turn to put in the blind. This prevents getting "free" hands. However, some clubs allow the player to join the hand if he immediately puts up the blind.
Wheel
A straight from A-5.
Wash
Washing
A card shuffling technique where the dealer spreads the cards on the table face-down and then proceeds to mix them around with his hands flat in a face washing like motion, before gathering them up and performing a more normal shuffle. Card washing is intended to remove any consistencies in the sequencing among the cards of new decks, or sequencing that was produced in play prior to the present shuffle.
Wild Card
A card that can be played as any value.
World Poker Tour
A popular TV-show that has helped generate a great interest in poker. Every epidode is one hour long and consists of the final six players remaining in the tournament. A camera is used so that the viewer can see the players' cards.
World Series of Poker
The World Series of Poker is the most prestigious set of poker tournaments in the world held each spring at Binion's Horsehoe Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Invented by Benny Binion as a way for the top players in the world to pit their skills against each other.

Events include 7 Card Stud, Five Card Lowball, Omaha Hi-Lo, Texas Hold'em and H.O.R.S.E. The WSOP culminates with the Championship Event - a $10,000 buy-in Texas Hold-Em' tournament that lasts a week.
